Week 10: #23 Is this really the end? Or just the beginning...

Favorite Discoveries:
My favorite exercise include Flickr, Bubblr, avatars, Del-icio-us, Taging and Bloglines.

Lifelong Learning Goals:
Learning web 2.0 was so much fun that it never seem that we are doing any exercises. It was also amazing how useful the technology is in modern life.
In two months what we learned and understood will help us in doing our job in a better way and it will also help us realized that the patrons that we are dealing with are not standing on the other side of the mountain.

Unexpected Outcome:
All the modern technology that help us, our kids, and our scientist could turn into a monster if not used properly. Just like driving, breaking laws of these technologies can put a person in a big trouble! such as privacy policies, internet bullies or other kind of harmful outcomes so that where comes the safe internet policies that we all need to teach to our new generation.

Other web 2.0 applications:
I think soon we will have web 3.0!

Week 9: #22 Downloadable Media

This is a wonderful technology to have our books get download on a small device but the part that I didn't like is that there aren't enough titles available for downloading it is just like putting a request for a popular movie and wait for it for a long time. It could get better if HCPL put the downloadable book or dvd or cd at the same time as the regular collection material so it will be easier for the patrons to enjoy their books either in text form or either on a device, it will also eliminate the time and requests on popular items.

Week 9: #21 Podcasts, Smodcasts!

Podcasts are very useful for all kinds of learning materials and of course learners, for example if a student can't learn from a book he could learn it by listening to it as we know that different people have different learning styles.

Week 8: #18 Social Networking: Making friends in the comfort of your own home

Two years ago I was searching on a book on google and found that book's review on a social networking site which later became my favorite site to get ideas from cooking to technology.
There are thousands of these sites but most popular are facebook, my space ,orkut, ning and linkedin. They are equally popular among us more or less. I personally like Orkut because I can be in touch of my friends and family at the same time.We can share our wisdom and ideas and of course fun.
